Help Attila and Brighton & Hove Albion FC have a hit at the beginning of
January 2005 with our new version of the Piranhas' 'Tom Hark'!
Many of you will remember Otway's Hit Campaign with 'Bunsen Burner' which
got to number 9 in the charts a while back. Well, now we're having a go!
Myself, the rest of my band Barnstormer, sax playing actor and Albion fan
Ralph Brown, the excellent Brighton ska band Too Many Crooks and a mighty
choir of Albion fans doing backing vocals have joined forces to try and get
our campaign for our new stadium into the charts just after Xmas. Here is
the press release we have just sent out. If you would like to support us
please pre-order the single from the link as soon as possible - the reasons
why are explained below.....

Seven years since the Goldstone Ground was destroyed by uncaring moneymen,
seven years of fans' campaigns - and still Brighton & Hove Albion FC
doesn't have a proper home and is in severe financial difficulties. So
here's another chapter in the story of the Albion supporters' battle to
save our club.....
A few weeks ago we had the idea of reclaiming the Piranhas' national
football ska hit 'Tom Hark' for Brighton with new lyrics in support of our
stadium , with the dual aim of raising money for the Albion's Alive &
Kicking Fund and trying to take the Falmer For All Campaign into the Top 20
in the month before the Public Enquiry restarts! The Piranhas were Brighton
through and through, in the forefront of the local punk scene in the late
Seventies and early Eighties. Many of us have very fond memories of their
gigs at legendary Brighton venues like the Vault and the Alhambra and it
has always seemed quite ironic to me to hear their song blasting out from
other clubs' PA systems and chanted by opposing fans.
So as part of the campaign for our new stadium, 'Seagulls Ska' proudly
present our new version of 'Tom Hark' along with a seriously ska version of
our beloved anthem 'Sussex By The Sea' - and the alternative 1990 Cup
Final song for our rivals Crystal Palace! Of course, you'll hear 'Tom Hark'
at the next few Albion home games....
This record is dedicated to all the fans who have battled so long , so hard
and with such creativity and imagination to keep our club alive: to the
Piranhas, especially Bob Grover, who inspired it and who has given us his
blessing: to Dick Knight and the Albion board, who pulled us back from the
brink: and of course to the Albion players, whose dedication, commitment
and self-belief against unbelievable odds have given a club with no ground
and no money three promotions in four years. And to Skint for backing us.
Thanks.

ORDERING
It is vital that people who wish to support our efforts order the
single as soon as possible.
Under normal circumstances, distribution and other costs mean that singles
lose money. In order for this one to make money for the Club, Skint
Records need to have a reasonably good idea of how many copies to press, and
pre-ordering will make this possible. In addition to pre-ordered copies, if
we are going to take the Albion into the charts, we obviously need to sell
as many extra copies as possible in the five days immediately following the
release date (Mon 3rd - Sat 8th Jan)
So we're suggesting people pre order, then buy an extra one for Mr. Prescott
after it's released!
To keep down distribution costs, the single will only be available at
selected shops, all in Sussex, see below.
But it can be purchased online from anywhere in the world!
THE LYRICS
TOM HARK (We Want Falmer!)
Intro:
'Prescott, Prescott give us a ground!' (recorded live by the massed ranks of Albion fans!!)
We want Falmer
We need Falmer
We need Falmer
We want Falmer
We Brighton fans are angry - we've been messed around
Since the ******* Archer sold the Goldstone Ground
We're stuck in an athletics track we really hate
Like playing in Albania Division Eight!
The whole thing's daft
We don't know why
We have to laugh
Or else we'll cry
Our ground's too small
The costs too high
Without Falmer
Our club will die
For years the planning process has dragged on and on
A paralytic snail wouldn't take that long
So listen Mr Prescott as we tell you how
We need our Falmer Stadium - we need it now!
The whole thing's daft
We don't know why
We have to laugh
Or else we'll cry
Our ground's too small
The costs too high
Without Falmer
Our club will die
(Instrumental)
We want Falmer
We need Falmer
We need Falmer
We want Falmer.....
